FURNI°TIRES
The car tire trash problem is a global issue with significant environmental, health, and safety consequences. Millions of discarded tires pile up across Sierra Leone, a country without a proper waste management system. Decomposing tires leach toxic chemicals and micro-plastics into the soil and groundwater, contaminating ecosystems. Vehicle tires are replaced on a regular basis, creating an ever increasing waste problem. At the FIL we PROcycle discarded tires into beautiful pieces of FURNItires. As sales increase, waste decreases.
TIRE(D OF) WASTE
Old tires are non-biodegradable, occupying landfill space and creating environmental hazards like soil and water pollution from leached chemicals, while also serving as breeding grounds for disease-carrying insects like mosquitoes. PROcycling the tires transforms discarded tires into beautiful pieces of FURNItires, made in Sierra Leone.

PRO*CYCLED COMFORT
For this living room set we up cycled used corduroy pants, which we cut into pieces in order to reassemble them into larger pieces of upholstery fabric. Corduroy is soft, yet very durable and thus a perfect cover for chairs and sofas. The coffee table features the original tire rim, and makes a unique side table. The chair as well as the coffee table have rolls, so moving them around the room is effortless and fun.
